American Music Awards: The Nominees

The American Music Awards are on tonight and they'll kick off with a bang including an eight-minute opening performance starring Janet Jackson!  B4A is rooting for Kings Of Leon tonight!  The band is nominated for Artist of the Year - Alt Rock, Favorite Artist - Alt Rock and Favorite Band, Duo or Group - Pop or Rock.

Rascal Flatts is up for Favorite Band, Duo or Group - Country and their album Unstoppable is nominated for Favorite Album - Country.

Michael Jackson has an amazing five nominations with Artist of the Year - Soul/R&B being the most prominent.  His name is also in the Favorite Male Artist - Pop/Rock and Favorite Male Artist - Soul/R&B categories.  Jackson's Number Ones album is in the running for two Favorite Album awards - Pop/Rock and Soul/R&B.

Lady GaGa is vying for three trophies during tonight's telecast:  Artist of the Year - Pop/Rock, Favorite Female Artist - Pop/Rock and her Fame album is nominated for Favorite Album - Pop/Rock.
